880 relay team of Karen Welch, Ruby Dunn, Mae Dunn and Marie Fletcher placed 2nd. Our mile relay team, Karen Welch Janice Aylor, Ruby Dunn and Mary Hudson, placed 2nd. And in the 440 relay team of Karen Welch, Laura Purell C.C. Taylor and Marie Fletcher placed 2nd. Our JV girls are looking good too. Jeanette Buke placed 1st in short-put, and in Discus. Wendy Jenkins placed 1st in the Long Jump and set a new school record. T.C. Mahoney placed 4th. Marion Eastham placed 1st and Sarah Massie 3rd in the High Jump. Penny Chadwell placed 2nd in the Hurdle and set a new school record. Lynell Prudham placed 1st in the 100 yd. dash. T.C. Mahoney placed 3rd in the 220, Denise Wingfield 4th in the 880 and Melanie Burke 3rd in the mile run. Our 440 relay team of Donna North, Wendy Jenkins, Karen Maury, and Jane Cook, placed 1st, surpassing the time of our varsity 440 relay team. Our mile relay team of Sarah Massie, Marion Eastham, T.C. Mahoney and Wendy Jenkins also placed 1st. And finally, our 880 relay team composed of Penny Chadwell, Sam Maury, Valorie Jordan and Stacy Skowronski placed 2nd. The final scores for the J.V. meet were: Central 77, Rapp. 54, Luray 7.
