Pretty red-haired Leslie Marshall rode George Strawbridge’s Celtic Song III to a wire-to-wire five-length victory over Brandywine’s Conserje, ridden by Toinette Phillips. Both girls ride with great style, are friends, 21-year-olds and are University of Delaware students. Third was Mrs. Helen Polinger’s Champerty, who almost fell at the second last with Jonathan Ruhsam riding, and Kathee Rengert on S. H. R. Fred’s Yeoman’s Duty followed.
