The good citizens who showed up at the School Board meeting last night will show up again when the budget hearing comes up next May to say “no more taxes . . . cut spending,” still not realizing that by their actions last night, taxes and expenditures will surely be higher.
Again a county supervisory board has let the emotion of the public rule, rather than brainsheer numbers of people knock the props from under a determination of a board appointed to take action which is best for the students, administration, teachers and county.
I thought idealistically. . .that the Board, Administration and Teachers were all interested in the best education for the least cost. I find that untrue and realized it when I heard a teacher ask, “Have we successfully stopped the Board?”
Congratulations to Mr. Wingfield. He has retained his job— without saying a word. Maybe he will get a listed phone number now to accept congratulatory calls.
