Dodson
Ellis Britton Dodson, 76. of Toms Brook, died Feb. 1, 1979 in Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
Funeral services were held Sunday front Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, conducted by the Rev. Michael Grooms. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery at Stephens City.
Mr. Dodson was born Sept. 1, 1902, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Walker Dodson and Frances Nichols Dodson. He was a retired farmer and construction worker.
He is survived by his wife. Ellie Atkins Dodson; three daughters, Esther Dodson of Winchester, Dorothy Bailey of Toms Brook and Hester Ramey of Winchester; four sons, James E. Dodson and Russel Dodson, both of Winchester, Paul W. Dodson and Charles Dodson, both of Toms’’ Brook; 15 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Walter Dodson and Eustis Dodson, and one sister. Bertha Dodson, all of Rappahannock. He was predeceased by three sons.
Bridge Party
Mrs. Dale Metzinger was hostess to the Sperryville Bridge Club Friday evening at her home.
Guests were Mrs. Mary Quaintance, Mrs. Brown Miller, Mrs. I. R. Kilby, Mrs. W. H. Cordle, Mrs. T. J. Pillar, Mrs. R. E. Thompsen, Mrs. Hugh Chrisman, Mrs. Roy L. Reeve, Mrs. W. H. Lyne, Mrs. E. A. McNear, Mrs. Ian Pryde, and Mrs. L. J. Kilby.
Prize winners were Mrs. Cordle, Mrs. Quaintance, Mrs. Thompsen and Mrs. Miller.
