Luke informed Askew that he’d received a letter of complaint from a property owner on the Old Hollow Road, charging that funds approved for paving that road had been spent elsewhere even though rightsof-way for widening the road had been donated. According to Luke, the author of the letter maintained he’d been told by Ask^w that improvements to the Old Hollow Road were to begin last fall.
"It’s the next project we’ll start on once we finish our other obligations..in the next month or so,” Askew assured the supervisors. “We’ll try to get 18 feet of pavement (on the Old Hollow Road) but it’s going to be extremely tight,” the resident engineer concluded.
In other action, the supervisors approved payment of $190 to Robert Settle for a steer calf killed by dogs on January 14.
“I got a bunch of dogs," reported county dog warden Jack Bruce. “But I don't know if I got the dog that did the work.” Noting that thb calf had beeri' killfed oh Saturday, Bruce said he picked up several dogs in the area on Sunday. “Everything’s been quiet since,” he added.
