Snead with a map of the county in behalf of Ned Jones, who served as Rappahannock’s clerk for 14 years until his retirement in July, 1977. Mrs. Smith made the presentation at the close of dedication ceremonies for the new clerk’s office. In addition to a large turn-out for the ceremonies, on Thursday morning a stream of people flowed through the building all day, admiring the new offices and sampling dozens of cookies baked by Mrs. Smith for the occasion.
