The new' sign across the Iront of the store captures the spirit of the county with a painting of Rappahannock's mountains. The art work wasn't really planned. Mrs. Keithley said something was needed to cover up the cocacola emblems at each end of the sign. “We thought it might he nice to do mountain scenes," she explained.
Old Hollow Grocery is a three generation family operation. Arlene mans the cash register during the day while Don takes over at night and on weekends, doing double duty with his job at Ideas, Inc., in McLean. Dawn Keithley. a senior at Rappahannock County High School, alternates afternoons with her brother Paul, a junior at RCHS. Scott, a seventh grader at the elementary school, helps his father out on weekends. Having the store and selfservice gas pumps open everyday from 8:30 a.m. until >7 in the evening requires the cooperation of the entire Keithley family.
