Don Keithley was in the market for a small business here in Rappahannock when he noticed the “for sale” sign on Atkins’ service station and frrfit stand. “He'd been looking for quite a few years, not necessarily for a grocery store but for any small shop," said Arlene Keithley. The Keithleys purchased the business and went to work on the main building. They added a shelf island in the middle, shelves in the back, dairy cases, soda coolers and an ice cream case

Honored
Ronnie Hawkins, who recently resigned from the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Department, was honored with a dinner party by Sheriff and Mrs. W. A. Buntin and other friends last Thursday.
Present were Trooper and Mrs. R. A. Baines, John Manion and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hawkins, Jr., all of Washington; Mrs. Eva L. Smith of Flint Hill; Mrs. Judy Harrison and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jackson, all of Sperryville; Mrs. Sarah Latham, Lt. and Mrs. David Streagle of Amissville; and Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Jenkins, Jr. of Manassas.
