NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF VIRGINIA STATE CORPORATION COMMISSION’S INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE TARIFFS FOR RECOVERY OF FUEL COSTS BY THE POTOMAC EDISON COMPANY The Virginia State Corporation Commission (“Commission”), pursuant to Sec. 56-249.6 of the Code of Virginia, has required each privately-owned electric utility in Virignia to submit its estimate of fuel costs, including the fuel component of purchased power, for the one-year period beginning January 1, 1980 along with any over or under recovery of fuel costs for the preceding year. On or before November 15, 1979, (Vepco • November 20, 1979), The Potomac Edison Company (“Company”) will file with the Commission its estimated fuel costs, tariff revisions to recover such estimated fuel costs and evidence in support thereof. On and after November 15, 1979 (Vepco - November 20, 1979), copies of the testimony and tariffs may be reviewed during regular business hours in any Company office where bills may be paid, or in the Office of the Clerk of the Commission, 12th Floor, Blanton Building, Bank and Governor Streets, Richmond, Virginia. A public hearing has been scheduled for December 12, 1979, in the Commission’s 13th Floor Courtroom, Blanton Budding, Bank and Governor Streets, Richmond, Virginia. Any interested person (public witness) who wishes to appear and make a statement in his or her own behalf need only appear in the Courtroom at 9:45 a.m. on the day of the hearing. Public witnesses wdl be given an opportunity to speak at 10:00 a.m., or as soon as practicable thereafter.. On or before December 7, 1979, any interested person desiring to participate as a protestant, as defined in Rule 4:6 of the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure (“SCC Rules”), to present evidence and to cross-examine witnesses, must fde with the Clerk of the Commission an original and five copies of a Protest as described in SCC. Rule 5:16 (b) together with an original and ten copies of the testimony and exhibits protestant intends to present at the December hearings.
