Coffey
Mrs. Gaudia Perle Coffey, 73, of Sperryville died Tuesday, November 27 at her residence following a long illness. She was the widow of Frank D. Coffey and a native of Rappahannock. She was the daughter of the late Walter Nelson Rector and Izza Mae Brown Rector.
Mrs. Coffey was a graduate of Smithdeal-Massey Business College in Richmond and was bookkeeper and secretary for the Rappahannock Co-op Fruit Growers Association from its establishment in 1937 until it closed in the early 60’s, of the Blue Ridge Fruit Growers until it was closed in 1969 and of the Rappahannock Cold Storage, all at Sperryville, for several years. She was a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville.
Survivors include a son Frank D. Coffey Jr.~ a grandson, Frank D. Coffey III and a great-grandson, Frank D. Coffey IV, all of Sperryville. held today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Sperryville Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Ronald Wiley.
The family suggest that in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Sperryville Rescue Squad.

March Of Dimes
Seventy-six rockers raised $3,404.94 for the March of Dimes at a rock-a-thon sponsored by Piedmont Technical Education Center’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America.
Rappahannock businesses contributing to the rocka-tnon were the Teepee Restaurant, Big J Trash and Bruce Brown of Betsy Ross, all from the Sperryville area.
