“That you rezone the land, not the applicant,” answered Davis.
"Do you all have a rural binding contract?” asked Luke, turning to Fletcher.
“The only contingency to let the co-op out would be if it wasn’t rezoned B-2,” the attorney answered. If the land is rezoned, he said, the co-op must buy and Snead must sell. Fletcher added that Snead and the co-op had both a "gentleman’s agreement” and a written agreement to this effect.
The supervisors then voted unanimously to rezone the 9.66 acres from agriculture to commercial.
