Isle of Wight, a rural county in southeast Virginia surrounded ' by rapidly developing urban areas, recently approved the state’s largest agricultural and forestal district, an 8,300 acre tract involving 45 landowners.
Richard Turner, Isle of Wight supervisor and fanner who also owns and operates an equipment business, spoke on his county’s experience with ag districts at a conference held in Fredericksburg last week on preserving rural land uses.
