school needed more discipline not improving! One VIP (?) noted that when he “visited” the school he saw several students wearing hats. Besides being completely irrelevant to the issue, it was an absurd statement!
Is wearing a hat a sin, against the law, or is it hurting someone? I came away from that meeting feeling I was about six inches tall and had just been spanked and told that children should not be seen or heard.
The mobile units we were allowed were completed in September, meanwhile, those classes were crammed in whatever space could be found. I’ve been late for classes because the lunch line was so long I only had a few minutes to eat. In the past few weeks, approximately five to ten of us have had to carry our trays down the hall to the “Music Room" (called this because of the piano and guitars contained in it) to eat because there’s no room to sit in the cafeteria.
The above problems are only a few that students in my classes have been talking about. We’ve raised many questions which we cannot answer ourselves. I feel it would be nice if several board members would come into one of my classes and have a nice little chat with us—not to us but with us. Maybe we could get some answers and they could get an idea of how we feel about the school and some of the issues surrounding it.
