patient in University Hospital suffering with a copperhead snake bite which he sustained when he was moving a bale of hay in the barn. He killed the snake.
Eric Carlton Davis of Warrenton was the fatal victim of a shooting which occurred at Flatwood Inn. Harry Hart of Culpeper was apprehended and charged with the felonious shooting.
Mrs. F. L. Bowey of Amissville, Mrs. Barbara Gentry, Flint Hill and Mrs. B. G. Titchenell of Woodville attended the federation meeting of Virginia Homemakers Clubs held in Blacksburg.

Recreation Center at Washington and Rappahannock Woman’s Club presented a check for $1000 to Rec Center chairman, Granville Eastham for playground equipment. Donna Cannon of Castleton had the reserve champion Angus steer at the Virginia Junior Breeders show held at Culpeper. CMS Addison L. Swindler, Jr. of Offut Air Force Base, Neb. retired from service after more than twenty-six years. He is the son of Mrs. Emma Swindler of Sperryville. The Rev. John Divers, a missionary in LaPlata, Argentina, was guest speaker for the morning worship at Washington Baptist Church. He was a former pastor of the church. Diane DeBergh of Washington was among those on the Dean’s list at Lord Fairfax Community College. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. DeBergh.
