Mrs. Lynne Baines and son Bob of Ben Venue sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Route 211 in front of the local high school Monday evening. Both were treated and released from Fauquier Hospital where they were taken by Washington Rescue Squad.
Mrs. Baines was entering Route 211 from the school driveway in a late model Honda when she was struck by a 75 Chevrolet pickup, according to Trooper H. A. Newlin. Arthur R. Blosser of Stanley was the operator of the truck, and was passing on a double solid line, said the officer. Blosser was not injured, and charges are pending, said Newlin.
The Baines vehicle was totaled and damage estimated at $800 to the pickup.
Two vehicles were involved in a collision on Route 729 Tuesday morning about 6:45 a.m. north of Ben Venue. Richard Lee Settle of Castleton and Alice Lynne Chrisman of Sperryville were the operators of a 75 Chevrolet pickup and a 78 Dodge, respectively, according to Trooper Newlin.
