“Since getting out of school, Darlene has always been trying to phelp somebody else,” said Rev. James Price, pastor of Macedonia Church. “Cancer is just a mean fellow in all aspects. We’ve gone to the bedside of many folk. We’ve stood there and held their hands while they were passing out of this world. We’ve seen many things we never dreamed we’d have to confront," he said. “We’re grateful to all who’ve tried to alleviate this kind of suffering...And we have great admiration for Darlene. As that great modern day Moses who was slain by an assassin in Tennessee said, ‘If I can help somebody along the way. then my living will not be in vain.'
