As Assistant Principal involved directly with student attendance. I wish to respond to comments made in the April 30. 1961 issue of the RAPPAHANNOCK NEWS. In the article on taxidermy it was stated that a ten dollar fine would be imposed for each day Richard Talley was absent from school and that three points would be deducted from his grades when he was under suspension. At no time did the school make either statement or even suggest that these were possibilities.

Appreciation
To the editor:
The members of the Rappahannock County Woman’s Club would like to extend their appreciation to Freeman Allan, proprietor of Mountain Magic Theater, for showing the movie. "The Electric Horseman", the weekend of April 24, 1981.
This showing benefited Sursum Corda School and Day Care Center. Mr. Allan has shown continued interest in the community both by operating the theater and by helping to raise money for charitable purposes.
Thanks again for bringing another enjoyable and worthwhile evening to our area.

Clarification
To the editor:
In the article about the shop on April 30, 1961 it was not Tom Von Fange’s or Jim Dennis' intent to make it sound as though Renee Ellis is any different than any othet student.
The accident that occurred to Renee could have happened to any student or person and it is not meant to be a reference to her character.
We hope this will clear up any misunderstandings in the Rappahannock community. .
