David L. Konick, Washington lawyer and Rappahannock’s zoning administrator, will seek the post of commonwealth’s attorney in the general elections this November.
Konick’s announcement on Thursday follows two days after incumbent Douglas Baumgardner’s decision that he will not seek re-election.
“I feel I’m qualified by education and experience to carry out all the duties of the office of commonwealth’s attorney. I have experience as special prosecutor in Rappahannock County. And acting as a defense attorney over the past five and half years will enable me to effectively and efficiently administer the criminal justice system,” Konick said, explaining his reasons for seeking the job.
A 1974 graduate of George Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in history, Konick received his Juris Doctor in 1977 from the National LawCenter in Washington, D.C. He became a member of the
