The Sperryville Tigers upped their season record to two wins and no losses by defeating the Braves from Berkely Springs, West Virginia, 20-4, in Apple Valley League play on Sunday.
The Tigers exploded for 21 hits in nine innings. Coaches Sam Aylor and Oliver Johnson reported that the victory was a team effort in every respect.
Leading hitters for the Tigers were Jeff Porter (four for five), Don Dawson (four for six), Cecil Smoot (three for four), Gary Leake (three for five) and Nils Aylor (two for two).
