Cancer Drive
Tops Goal
“Rappahannock citizens proved they care about what is happening in cancer research today and what will take place in the future by their generous contributions to the Cancer Crusade of 1955,” said Frances Lyne, county chairman for the Crusade.
Mrs. Lvne reported that $1,757 was contributed during April; that total is $1,457 more than the county’s “fair share” goal of $5,500., '
Mrs. Lyne and co-chairman Mrs. Cleo Louis complimented the district chairmen and 75 volunteers for their cooperation in making the Crusade such a success. The chairmen, their districts and the amounts collected were:
—Louise Varner, Piedmont, $710. 55,
—Ruby Cannon, Stonewall-Hawthorne, $1,575,
—Anne Keyser, Hampton, $750,
—Micky Stuart, Jackson, $540.15,
—Mabel Lillard, Wakefield, $1,050.15.
“To each volunteer and to each contributor, we say ‘thank you’,” the Crusade leaders concluded.
