Rappahannock High School approached
graduation, naming four honor students in May, 1972. They were: Billy Kilby, valedictorian; Deborah Barron, Salutatorian and Dabney Eastham and Rick Gore who came out equally in third place.
The annual spring junior horse and pony show sponsored by the Rappahannock 4-H Horse and Pony Club was held at Blue Rock Farm near Washington.
Five championships were given: Snowflake, ridden by Cathy Coley, took the Small Pony Division. Reserve Champion was Page Chichester’s Pop Tart.
The Large Pony Champion was Ad Lib ridden by Lib Snead and reserve was Starlight with Janice Avlor.
Susan Gallihugh riding Court Jester was Champion in the Pleasure Horse group with Nina Metzinger taking reserve champion.
