The Rappahannock Humane Society (RHS) held an organizational meeting on January 7.
The main item on the agenda was the election of officers. Vince Hannon, President of RHS, announced that the following people will chair committees: Ann Sakalaucks, Financial; Pat Saltonstall, Publicity and Humane Education; and Sherry Landsman, Membership. Susan Carney is secretary.
Hannon cited two others who volunteer services: Doug Baumgardner, leagal assistance; and Joan Howard CPA, accounting assistance.
Asked what the goals are of the RHS, Hannon listed the following: to act as a resource to the Board of Supervisors; to place its members on the staff of the Animal Shelter and to assist in its administration; and to work closely with Animal Warden Jack Bruce. Hannon said the RHS could help Bruce if he ever gets too busy.
