Petition Against
Konick
The Board of Supervisors in their January 7 meeting were presented with a petition calling for the ouster of Zoning Administrator David Konick.
The 21 citizens who signed the petition claim that Konick is a poor candidate for public office, and say they don’t want to see their tax dollars spent “unwisely.” “Therefore, we request that Mr. Konick be asked to resign, and that another candidate be selected,” the petition states.
Asked for a comment, Konick said, “One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in over 3 years as a Public Servant in Rappahannock County is that it is impossible to please everyone, and this is especially true with regard to the job of Zoning and Subdivision Administrator.” Konick added, “As you know, the Zoning Administrator serves at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors, and I believe I have the support of a majority of the Board at this time.
The Supervisors took no action on the petition.
