Representing Wakefield School of Rappahannock County was Douglas Brooks, a history major. In excerpts taken from his essay mention was made of United States’ participation in three wars to preserve our freedom, industrilization and space exploration and he emphasized the importance of the present generation preserving our heritage.
The citizenship program ended with the presentation of certificates, Good Citizen pins and picture taking with parents and concluded with a special devotional prepared and presented by Mrs. Clayton Wynham which emphasized the privilege of all to preserve our heritage.
During the business session conducted by Mrs. Dale Metzinger, Regent, an announcement was made of the acceptance of Dorothy Brewer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Brewer of Madison into membership by the National Board.

Mrs. Edgar Puryear of Madison who is NSDAR State National Defense chairman, presents monthly to the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter special information on world happenings, this month being on Star Wars which is a follow up of High Frontiers as a defense mechanism.
The December 19 joint meeting of the Culpeper Minute Men DAR and SAR was well attended with 81 members and guests.
