The sign-up period for the 1985 Feed Grain and Wheat Program has been extended until April 1. The major provisions are:
Wheat-10 percent paid diversion at $2.70 times the established yield. Additional set-aside equal to 28.57 percent of the wheat for harvest as grain.
Maximum of 70 percent of the farm wheat base may be harvested for grain. Eligible for loans and deficiency payments.
Feed Grain-(Com, Grain Sorghum, Barley, Oats) Maximum of 90 percent of the base may be planted. Set aside equal to 11.11 percent of the planted acreage. Eligible for loans and deficiency payments.
Set-aside under both programs may be grazed before April 30 and after October 1 but may not be mechanically harvested. Stop by the ASCS office for details.
