I, Jesse E Pond, Jr., Chairman of the Republican Party of Rappahannock County, do hereby issue a call for a mass meeting of all members of the Republican Party of Rappahannock County to be held at the Court House in Washington, Virginia, on March 18, 1985, at 8:00 P.M. The purposes of the meeting are 1. The election of delegates and alternates to cast five (5) delegate votes and to represent
Rappahannock County at the state convention of the Republican Party of Virginia to be
held at the Norfolk Scope, Norfolk, Virginia, on May 31 and June 1, 1985, for the purpose
of nominating a Republican candidate for each of the offices of Governor, Lieutenant
Governor, and Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia. 2. The election of delegates and alternates to cast 5 delegate votes and to represent Rappahannock
County at the 31 st Legislative District Convention of the Republican Party of
Virginia to be held on Saturday, May 11, 1985, at 10:00 A M. at the Duncan Memorial
Church meeting hall, Berryville, Clarke County, Virginia, for the purpose of nominating a
candidate for the General Assembly. 3. For the transaction of any other business that may properly come before the meeting. There will be a registration fee charged at the door of $1.00 per person. Candidates for Delegate or Alternate must pre-file by declaring their intentions in writing, by mail or in person, to Jesse E. Pond, Jr., P.O. Box 205, Sperryville, VA 22740, postmarked no later than March 14, 1985, or in person by noon, March 15,1985. The registration fee for the State Convention is $25 00 The registration fee for the 31st Legislative District Convention is $3.00 The entire registration fee, or fees, must accompany the notice of intention to file for either or both conventions. Payment by check, made out to Paul M. Frantz, Treasurer, Rappahannock County Republican Party All legal and qualified voters, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, or sex, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who express in open meeting, if requested, their intention to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party in its mass meetings, party canvasses, or primaries in their respective election districts.
