a great, Dig congratulations to our Rapphannock County High School, Junior Varsity Basketball team, who defeated Page County High last Saturday night in Front Royal and won the Bull Run District Championship “1st” place trophy!! One of the team’s captains, Castleton’s Richard Tribino, reports the exciting win by 3 close points. Afterwards, the team and their many, friends and fans celebrated at McDonald’s and Burger King in Front Royal. Later, about 25 happy, teenagers arrived at the Schoppet residence and continued celebrating the victory around the family’s “pool table. ”
Richard’s younger, brother, Tommy Schoppet, was relaxing in his robe, while watching a movie on the teley, when the parade of troops came meandering through the room surprising’ the amazed boy!! There were basketbair players from the Jr. Varsity team, and players from the Varsity team, and even alumni, basketball players from years before! And some cheerleaders came too-much to Tommy’s delight! Sunday morning brought sunshine and warm weather and a few of the basketball players stayed for breakfast with the Schoppet-Tribino family and shot a few baskets in the net outside. What an exciting weekend to remember!
