commander ana Mrs. D.C. Welling and children Judith Carter, Anne Katherine and David Bentley of Silverdale, Washington arrived at Dulles Sunday night enroute to Norfolk where Commander Welling will attend naval classes for two weeks. Mrs. Welling and children will visit Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Moffett III and family and Mrs. Jean B. Moffett on Wednesday. Mrs. Jean Moffett will return to Norfolk for a week’s visit with the Wellings on Thursday.
Mr. Sidney Mank returned to his home on Sunday after being a surgical patient in a Maryland Hospital for a few days.
Miss Melissa Pullen of Culpeper was a weekend guest of her grandmother Mrs. Janie Pullen.
Sunday evening visitors of Mrs. Addie Keyser and Mrs. Virginia Cloud were Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Keyser of Winchester, Mr. and Mrs. Moffett Pullen of Flint Hill and Mrs. Phyliss Atkins and children.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Kindall and Karen and Mr. and Mrs. Troy Baker and daughters entertained with a cookout on Saturday evening. Their guests were Tommy Kindall of Sperry ville and Mr. and Mrs. James Kindall, Natoshia and Corky of Front Royal.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Campbell visited Mrs. Campbell’s sister Mrs. Steve Lockhart in Winchester Hospital on Wednesday. Danny Campbell of Front Royal was a visitor of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Campbell on Saturday.
Friday night Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Crews met their friends Mr. and Mrs. Arthur A. Haszard of Gret Cacapon, W.Va. in Front Royal and had dinner at the Golden Corral.

to dean’s list
William W. Oliver IV of Woodville has been named to the dean’s list for the spring quarter at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University at Blacksburg.
William, who is a sophomore majoring in animal science, achieved a 4.0 grade point average, or straight A’s, for the quarter. To be named to Tech’s dean’s list, students must
maintain at least a 3.4 grade point average while enrolled as a full-time student.
