Savory Bran Topping

1/4 cup margarine or butter

1/4 cup chopped onion

2 cups shreds of wheat bran cereal

2 T. grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 tsp. dried leaf oregano

1/2 tsp. dried leaf basil

Salt, pepper to taste

Melt margarine in small skillet over low heat; add onion and cook until tender (do not brown). In medium bowl, mix margarine and onion with remaining ingredients. Spread over baking sheet and bake in 350degree oven 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly toasted. Store in tightly covered container. Makes 3 cups.

Tropical Fruit Salad delights the eye as well as the palate and deserves a place of honor on a buffet or dinner table.
