“Clifton,” the charming and historically significant home of Dr. and Mrs. Robert J. Rodgers, will be the site of the Rappahannock County Historical Society’s annual summer picnic, to be held on Friday, Aug. 7.
The evening will begin with a B.Y.O.B. social hour at 6 p.m. Members and their house guests are cordially invited and urged to attend and bring either a covered dish (meat or vegetable), salad or dessert. Beverages, including set-ups, cups, paper plates and plastic eating utensils will be provided by the Society.
Members and guests are also encouraged, a Society spokesman said, to bring folding chairs or blankets on which to sit for the picnic and the brief program to follow, as well as small folding tables on which to eat.
Following the picnic, members will be very briefly brought up to date on what the Society has accomplished during the last year, as well as what the Society hopes to accomplish in the future! Member suggestions on future programs and new projects will be welcomed.
