The first of three regional meetings devoted to finding ways to protect Virginia’s ground water will be held Thursday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Belle Meade Restaurant in Harrisonburg.
Sponsored by the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service with the assistance of the Virginia Water Control Board and the Environmental Protection Agency, the series will continue in September with meetings in Suffolk and Manassas.
The meeting, which is being conducted at no charge to the public, is for government officials, extension agents, farmers and private landowners, conservation groups, users of water from private wells and others interested in protecting this state resource.
