NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
TO AMEND THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE TOWN OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to resolution of the Town Council of Washington, Virginia on July 8, 1987, and in accordance withSections 15.1-431,15.1-493, and other applicable Sections of the Code of Virginia, the Town Council of Washington, Virginia and the Planning Commission of Washington, Virginia will hold a joint public hearing at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 1987, in the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia, to take public comment regarding certain proposed Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance. All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views.
The primary purpose of said Amendments is to remove the requirments for aaSpecial Use Permit for commercial signs for legally constituted business entities within the Town of Washington. Certain size and number limitations on all signs are also included within the proposed Amendments.
The full text of the Amendments to be considered by the Town Council and the Planning Commission is available for inspection in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County during normal business hours.
Following the public hearing, the Planning Commission will recommend to the Council approval or disapproval of the Ordinance, or Amendments thereto, and the Town Council may approve, disapprove, or approve with Amendments, this Ordinance.
This Notice of a joint public hearing shall be published for two (2) successive weeks prior to August 12, 1987 in the Rappahannock News.
