Shirley Corley
Shirley (Geech) Corley, 80, of Stephens City, died July 14 at the Susan B. Miller Nursing Home, Woodstock.
Mr. Corley was born Dec. 25, 1907, in Winston-Salem, N.C. He retired from M.J. >Grove Lime Co., Stephens City. He was married to the late Hester Humbert Corley.
Surviving are two sons, Allen Corley of Woodstock and Charles Corley of Stephens City; five daughters, Charlotte Berger, Dorothy Jackson, Roberta Corley and Elaine Blowe, all of Winchester and Josephine Frye of Sperryville; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The funeral was held July 17 at the Orrick Chapel United Methodist Church, Stephens City, with the Rev. Waverly Reams officiating. Burial was in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Stephens City.
Pallbearers were Garland Williams, Thomas Williams, Jesse Curry, Julian Berger, Walter Frye and Bucky Butler.
Hilda Watson
Hilda Dodson Watson, 56, of Front Royal, died July 13 at her home.
Mrs. Watson was born July 15, 1930 in Luray, the daughter of Bertha Atkins Dodson of Luray and the late Dennis Franklin Dodson. She was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church where she was the financial secretary and Sunday school secretary, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the church choir and church council and active in many other functions.
She was married to Warren C. Watson Jr. of Front Royal, who survives.
