RLV to meet

Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers will hold their monthly meeting Friday, Feb. 2, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Trinity Church Parrish Hall. All members and any others who would like to explore GED certificates are cordially invited. ■

Society's meeting postponed

The Rappahannock County Historical Society’s quarterly meeting, scheduled for this Sunday, Feb. 4, has been postponed due to the illness of the scheduled speaker, avocational archeologist Sandra Speiden. The meeting will be rescheduled some time in March, and the; date will be announced later. ■ • ■ _

Children's dance classes

The Child Care and Learning Center is sponsoring an 8-week series of dance classes on Saturdays beginning Feb. 10. From 9:15 to 10 a.m. is for ages 3-5 and from 10 to 11 a.m. is for ages 6-11. Cost is $36 for eight classes. For more information call Jean Wright 6366903 or CCLC 675-3237.

Breakfast in Washington Feb. 3

The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will hold an all-youcan-eat breakfast, 7 a.m.-ll a.m., Saturday, Feb. 3 at the fire hall. The buffet menu will include scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage and gravy, bacon, potatoes and fried apples, with juice, coffee and milk. Tickets are $5 adults and $2.50 for children, available at the door or in advance from any fire department member.

Dancing at Blackwater Creek

Folk, Contra and Square Dancing will be happening on the 2nd Thursday of each month, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The next dance will be Thursday, Feb. 8. A nominal fee of $12 per person for the series of 12 dances will be charged, to cover expenses for records and equipment, payable at the next dance. No specific background in dancing is required; intruction will be provided for each of the dances. The only requirments are two feet and a light heart. Valentine's benefit dance

A Valentine’s dance sponsored by the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10 beginning at 8 p.m. at the Washington firehall. Music will be provided by “Crazy Eights.” All proceeds will benefit the Animal Shelter building fund. Tickets will be $8 each or $15 for couples. Refreshments^will be available.
