The first hour that Burgers “N” Things opened on April 16 next to the Exxon station on Lee Highway, the owners realized their new business was a success. Since the Tastee Freeze in Sperryville closed years ago, there hasn’t been a restaurant in the county devoted to that convenient fast food that is worldwide a symbol of American culture.
Notably, the business is owned and operated by two generations of the Butler family; Steve and Becky Butler are equal partners in the business with their daughter Stefanie and her husband, Ricky Shaw. The business’ success is undoubtedly tied to months of hard work they put in before they opened and to the long hours required to staff it.
The menu offers many choices at a reasonable price. The basic hamburger sells for 89 cents, the specialty cheeseburger at 99 cents and the Grande burger, with a quarter pound of all-beef patty, is only $2.39.
