Melvin Timbers Sr., 45, of Burke, Va., died on Monday, June 8 at Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax.
He was a native of Rappahannock County. He was a Construction Superintendent for Clark Construction, and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Woodville.
Survivors include his wife Birdie J. Timbers; two sons Melvin Timbers Jr., and Justin Timbers, all of Burke; his mother Irene Timbers of Woodville; one brother James Kilby of Delaware; four sisters, Christine Timbers of Santa Barbara, Calif., Ellen Frye of Woodville, Frances Turner of Manassas and Gail Timbers-Banks of Glen Allen, Va.; three aunts; one uncle; four brothers in-law; two sisters in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Woodville on Saturday, June 13 with the Rev. George O. Dean of Front Royal officiating.
Interment was in the family section of the church cemetery. Military honors were provided by Culpeper American Legion Post #330.
W.C. Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Albert Brown, 65, of Capital Heights, Md., died on Monday, June 8 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D C.
Survivors include his wife Mary V. Brown of Capital Heights, Md.; two daughters Charlene A. Brown-Foster of B rend wood, Md. and Cynthia B. Brown of Capital Heights, Md.; two sons Dwayne A. Brown of Capital Heights, Md. and Michael S. Brown of Bowie, Md.; six grandchildren; one brother Raymond Brown Of Amissville arid a host of other relatives and friends.
