who heads the Fourth of July vendor committee.
Patti Brennan of Sperryville will be displaying her stained glass windows and sun catchers. Larry and Rosalie Brown of Mathews, who weave baskets, seats, rugs, canes and wooden toys, will have a booth.
Francis Hutchinson of Washington, Va. will be selling the gourmet hot sauces he makes such as jalapeno sauce. <
A BBQ dinner will be provided by Blue Moon Cafe at 5 p.m. and will also sell sandwiches throughout the day.
Vendor committee chairman Tompkins said he has begun laying out on paper where the booths will be located on Gay Street. He encourages vendors, who haven’t signed up for a space, to apply now while there are still some available.
Those interested should contact RAAC at 675-3193. For Rappahannock residents, the price of a 10 x 12 foot space is $50 and for a 10 x 24 foot space, $75. The price is higher for out of the county vendors.
Many special events and entertainments are planned and the grand finale is the parade through town and performance by the Alexandria Fyfes, Drums & Trumpets at 8:25 p.m. preceding the 9 p.m. spectacular fireworks display.
