at First Baptist Church in Washington on Saturday, June 13 with the Rev. Wendell Grant of Marshall officiating. Interment was in the Bailey Family Cemetery, Poles Road, Amissville. Military honors will be provided by Culpeper American Legion Post #330.

Paul Taylor
Retired, auditor
Paul McDaniel Taylor, 73, of Sperryville died Monday, June 8 at his residence.
He was born June 6, 1925 in North Carolina to Cora Wilkinson Taylor of Washington, N.C. and the late George Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the John Blair Masonic Temple #187 and was also a member of the Kena Temple Shriners. Mr. Taylor loved partaking in Civil War reenactments with his full calvary set up which included his horse “Miss Baby”.
He was a veteran of the United States army earningea bronze star in World War II. He was an auditor with the State Revenue Department of North Carolina and retired as the auditor for the Secretary of Defense after 30 years of service.
Besides his mother, Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Lewis Taylor.
He is also survived by one brother Lon W. Taylor of Washington, N.C. and one sister Cora W. Fitzgerald of Clarkesville.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a half brother George Taylor of Virginia Beach.
Memorial services of Mr. Taylor will be announced at a later date.

David Andes
Sperryville resident
David Andes, 87, of Sperryville died on Wednesday, June 10 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
Survivors include his wife Affie W. Andes of Sperryville; one aunt, Nannie Bell W'illiams of Washington, D.C.; two devoted nieces Helen Fletcher of Sperryville and Ruth Young of Culpeper; and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral, services were held at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Sperryville on Monday, June 15 with the Rev. Henry A. Townes of Culpeper officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
