Karen Loving recently graduated from the Virginia School for Alexander Technique in Charlottesville. Loving started her training in March 1995 and completed the 1600 hour, three-year education with her graduation on June 7.
The Alexander Technique is a way of educating a person as to how they are using their bodies to walk, sit, and stand and other everyday activities. As children, we move easily and naturally, but sometimes along the way, we begin to hold tension in our bodies und start moving in ways that create chronic problems such as back pain or stooped shoulders.
The problem may have started in childhood slumped over a desk and continued as adults, pulled down over our computer that now has over time produced chronic neck or wrist pain.
