Eugene Reed

Carpenter

Eugene Winston Reed, 75, of Amissville died Aug. 15 at his residence.

Born in Blacksburg, Mr. Reed worked in construction as a carpenter. He was a member of Trough Hill Baptist Church.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Reed served in the Army from 1944-48. He was a life member of American Legion Post 141 in Richmond.

Mr. Reed is survived by his wife Violet E. Reed of Amissville; daughter Linda Reed Jolley of Fort Lee; sons Winston A. Reed of Indianapolis, Ind. and Mark E. Reed of Tuscon, Ariz.; sisters Doris Martin Of Springfield, Mass, and Elizabeth Reed of New York, N.Y.; four grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother Charles E. Reed and Lottie Reed.

Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Crest Hill Cemetery in Orlean.
