Heddleston, Colin Nichols, Tommy Baldwin and Robbie Wilson will be back. They lost Chris Dennis, his family moved out of the area and they’re not sure about Chris Sause or Willie Collins yet, Gillespie said.
Beth Yowell, who went to state last year for Rappahannock, is back as well as Lauren Sharp, Emily Sims, Claire Schadler, Sara Opseth and Jessica Gheen. Meghan Fairbrother, on the team last year, has elected to jday basketball. Newcomers Rachel Sharp and Elaine Smith look very good, he said.
“The team, as far as varsity or junior varsity is never set because we always take the top seven times for varsity. Some runners improve more than others throughout the season,” Gillespie said. The team is gearing up for the meet with Luray Sept. 2 which will probably be around 4 p.m., he said. The rest of the schedule is not completely set as yet.
