While other students are still enjoying the last of their summer vacations and getting “psyched up” to go back to school, some students are already back at school.

The girls junior varsity and varsity basketball teams have been hard at work sharpening their skills.

“The first week was all conditioning,” said girls varsity basketball coach Luther Stanley . “I think they’ve gotten in pretty good shape and now we’re continuing to work on conditioning and defense. If we can just get everyone here at one time we’ll be okay.”

Stanley said the girls seem more energetic and enthusiastic this year than last. He attributes that to circumstance. “Last year was new to them, having a new coach and trying to adjust. This year their enthusiasm is really high.”
