T. Carlyle Lea Jr. has resigned as judge of the county court of Rappahannock County. He has been admitted as a partner in the law firm of Fray and Hudson, effective Sept. 1. All candidates elected in the Town of Washington in the July election have qualified and agreed to serve. Officers are: Mrs. Dorothy C. Davis, mayor; Mrs. Virginia G. Miller, treasurer; Mrs. Weiland Flint, Mrs. Bertha Armel, Mrs. Edna Wayland, Mrs. Christine Johnston and Dorothy Hawkins, council members. The Rev. Ed Dorrin has accepted the pastorate of Hope Hill Chapel near Castleton and beginning Sunday, Sept. 1, 1968 services will be held on the following schedule: Sunday School and church beginning at 10 a.m. and each Sunday evening at 8 p.m. A two-night carnival is scheduled in Chester Gap on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 30 and 31 at the carnival grounds there. There will be rides, games and refreshments both evenings and two country hams will be given away at the conclusion Saturday night.
