My guess is that when the bell rings next year, Gilmore will take off his jacket and come out swinging since the advantages of a Republican controlled General Assembly should be obvious to him. Unlike Holton, he has not yet crossed — and' - probably won’t cross — that line that shuts him off from former supporter^ and campaign contributors.
Incidentally, Holton did a, fine job as chief executive but**, there are still many, many oldt* time Republicans around who’* continue to regard him as a " turncoat. '•
