Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio will present a Ned Bittinger workshop “Painting the Still Life in Oil or Pastel” on Nov. 20-22. This three-day workshop is designed to teach the fundamentals and advanced techniques of painting the still life in oil or pastel medium.
Students will learn techniques for articulating color and form in a realistic manner with an emphasis on value and intensity of color. In addition instruction will address setting up a still life and how to plan a composition. This workshop is designed to instruct all levels of painters from beginner to professional and will be held at Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio in Slate Mills. The workshop will begin with a three hour still life painting demonstration on Friday morning at 10 a.m., and run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Students will paint from one of several varied and exciting still life setups.
