The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad will host a ham and turkey dinner on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the fire hall. Included with the meal will be vegetables, applesauce, bread and a dessert. If you would like to donate a dessert call Sarah Latham at 937-4410.

Thank you to all the men and women who have served in the armed forces for our country. We salute you today, Veterans Day.

Happy birthday wishes go out to new Amissville resident David Jones whose birthday was Monday, Nov. 9.

Our prayers are with Cathy Smith as she begins treatments for cancer; Juanita Settle who is recovering from knee surgery; Emma Swatman as she recuperates after having a repeat surgery on her throat; young Bobby Pennington who is having a battery of test run for possible surgery and Larry Oliver Sr. as he tries to cope with an inner ear infection.

Don’t forget to attend the Child Care and Learning Center’s fall auction and party this Saturday, Nov. 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. The fee of $10 includes drinks and hor d’oeuvres.
