One customer commented that roses she ordered from Mazie’s Daisies were outstanding for their exceptionally long stems and large blossoms. The cost was also outstanding at only $1 per stem.
Bartholomew said she customizes each arrangement to the customer’s orders and the number of flowers used determines the price. She can order any kind of flower, even exotics like a parrot plant, and have it within 24 hours, she said.
She will do the floral decorations and bouquets for small weddings, and will consider doing larger weddings if she can find help.
With all the shop offered, the only thing missing was FTD wire service, but that is coming soon she said.
Bartholomew was originally from Fairfax and moved to the county 12 years ago. Her first job was for a florist in Fairfax, and she later worked as a landscaper for the park service in Fredericksburg and Great Falls. She has two children, Mazie, 11-years-old, for whom the shop was named, and Jacob, 7-years-old.
Her plans for the future include buying a van to make deliveries and expanding her business to keep up with the orders.
