The program for the October meeting of the Rappahannock County Garden Club centered on “Flower Arrangements in Unusual Containers.” Guest speaker Debbie Llewellyn of Debbie’s Ivy Garden in Front Royal did the arranging in containers which club members brought to the meeting. Ms. Llewellyn worked with a wide variety of flowers and greens she had brought from her shop and discussed the characteristics which made some of them especially good for arrangements. Her floral creations delighted her audience.
Club members had done some arranging of their own as exhibits to be judged. Blue ribbons for design excellence were awarded to Joanne Tepper, Ruth Baumgardner, and Carol Miller. Apart from these were three arrangements Celine Siira had done as illustrations of contemporary design.
