The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors Monday unanimously approved a parking ordinance that will allow the sheriff and his deputies to ticket cars parked on county roads when the driver is not present.
Though sheriffs deputies could always issue parking tickets in Rappahannock, the vehicle driver or owner had to be at the car. The new measure was primarily aimed at vacationers and hikers who leave their cars precariously parked on county roads while hiking or at businesses where cars overflow the parking lots.
