The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community (RAAC) will show the “making oF the highly popular documentary, “Winged Migration,” at the Rappahannock County Library on Jan. 9 at 8 p.m.
The documentary was presented at The Theatre on Gay Street in November. Most of the audience left the theatre shaking their heads wondering how it was made.
Now, moviegoers will have a peek behind the scenes as some of the crew bond with the birds by living— even sleeping with them—thus allowing the birds to get used to having humans around.
This a'nsVers the question: “How did they get those closeups of the birds flying in formation?” The pilot and photographer flew alongside the birds in an Ultra Light Motorized craft.
The movie was an extraordinary technical achievement also utilizing gliders, balloons and helicopters. Viewers will hear the director’s commentary in English and revisit these favorite flocks
